Android USB debugging

USB debugging mode must be enabled on Android device to extend connectivity.
Instructions vary based on Android version of the device.

Before you start, please set up MTP file transfer mode by following these instructions.

Choose instructions link corresponding to device Android version from the top of the page.

To check Android version, open device Settings, find About phone and check the Android version field.

Oppo Android 10 and later

  1. Open Settings and tap About phone
  1. Tap Version.
  1. Tap Build number 7 (seven) times until a note You are now a developer! appears. A new item Developer options is added to Settings.
  1. Go back two levels and tap Additional Settings.
  1. Tap Developer options
  1. Ensure that the device is connected to computer with a USB cable and MTP file transfer mode is on
  1. Enable USB debugging. If USB debugging is dimmed, switch Developer options Off and then back On.
  1. Accept confirmation dialog by tapping OK button
  1. Tap Disable Permission Monitoring if the device has this option.
  1. USB debugging is now enabled. To check the status, follow the steps below.
  1. Swipe down from top of the device screen.
  1. In the Android Notification panel, check for USB debug mode.

To check Android version, open device Settings, find About phone and check the Android version field.
